In a perhaps stunning misunderstanding of how the idea of "yard sale" works, I pulled three different things that I had hung up on the racks, because oh, maybe I actually wanted to keep them. One I realized right away: yes, it's made from synthetic fibers, but finding chiffon poet and/or pirate blouses with the really good flowing ruffles is becoming nigh-impossible. So good for me, not forcing myself to go through the "Wait, I now want the thing again! Why oh why did I sell it?" cycle.

The other two are jackets I reclaimed relatively late into today's sale, because Thea and Rhias pretty much informed me that they are quintessential Jilli jackets (one pink & black-tinged burgundy striped velveteen blazer, one black with bat-wing tails and pink topstitching), and what the hell was I thinking letting them go?

"They don't fit me anymore!" I whined. "They'll never fit me again!"

:: cue glares from Thea and Rhias ::

:: I try both jackets on ::

" ... oh."

Both of them are a tiny bit snug, but they fit me. Once again, I have no actual damn idea what size I am or what fits me. This time it worked in my favor?

I am sorry I missed this sale. I had no idea it was happening.

So I hope you kept them, because these sound like unique jackets and yes, quintessentially you!!

I gave away so much stuff last year thinking I'd never fit into it again, or wouldn't wear it, or both. And both my size and my feelings have changed so much this year that I miss some of it--it's good you caught these & tried them on!

Waitwaitwaitwaitwait. Are we talking about the sale I made it to? Because I'm hyperventilating at the prospect of having missed one.

Glad to hear that you kept them and it worked. Always nice when you find something fits again.
