Meh: Today is one of those days where my brain went "Yeah, you have a low-key social event with friends today, but that's not happening. You need to spend the day by yourself". So the Stroppy One headed off to it, and I'm trying to recharge my brain. I think it's working. It's not really a case of Brain Raccoons, it's more that the events of the past month caught up and wiped me out. (Work nonsense, Bats Day, the resolution of the work nonsense, overnight trip to PDX, VMB prep, VMB, and house guest. Mostly all good, but good still takes energy.)

Double meh: The sewing project I was working on turned out to ... not work. I cut up a vintage dress to get the skirt, and even though I dismantled the bodice and sleeves for extra fabric to add fullness to the skirt body, it's still too mermaid-shaped and snug to my hips for my tastes. Oh well.

Yay, knowing your limits and taking some quiet time for yourself <3

You're going through such a crossroads time in your life, when you add an impending house move on top of that? There's ~no way~ it wouldn't be exhausting. Just know what you're feeling is totally to be expected. As you said, even good things are draining (I remember tweeting a picture of a Victorian era painting once of a lady slumped on her chaise, still in her outdoor/fancy clothes and said it was basically me after getting home from any photo shoot/etc...) And I really don't know how anyone can come back from a vacation "refreshed" because while the vacation itself could be on the calmest most secluded misty Northern Isle (*ahem*), just the rigors of airports and such are enough to negate a lot of the benefits.

As for the skirt, if it's not done by the time you come out here (I know that might be delayed with the move!), you have free reign to go through my fabric and see if there's something you'd like to use to add more to it. Don't give up on it ~ it hasn't worked *yet*, but I bet it will work the next go-round.

It is a very sleepy saturday. Taking time to just take care of yourself and rest is important.

And I agree with Kambriel about it not working *yet*.
