I've figured out what I'm looking for in a winter coat, and am determined to find it. It must be:
Anyone seen such a thing? The vaguely frustrating thing is I *have* (thanks to
alexiarnps) a bolt of heavy cotton-blend velvet in a gorgeous deep wine color. However, the only person I know who could make the coat I want out of it does not have the time or the sanity right now.
But yes. Crimson or wine, with black fur. I've accepted that I'll be asked where I'm caroling at, but I get asked that every winter, no matter what I'm wearing.
So. Any suggestions where I should start looking?
- crimson or wine velvet or wool (if velvet, it must be lined)
- princess seamed, with a full "skirt" to it
- at least knee-length, preferably mid-calf length
- have a black fur collar and cuffs (faux would be best, unless it's vintage)
- at least three buttons to close it
- be a size 18

I wonder if Clovis would throw a fit if I had a coat with rabbit fur trim. I don't know if he would believe it was made from bad minions ...

When I was young, my mom had a rabit fur coat that was made of various shades of rabbit, so it was kind of a calico coat. My cat at the time was a calico. It looked *just like* the coat, in a creepy way.
