Why yes, more vintage florals, with some vintage (aaaaugh, still can't believe the 90s are vintage) velvet dresses, and a couple of pairs of Olde Skool style goth boots. All of this is behind the cut, so people who want to scroll on past can do that easily.
So, that velvet floral maxi skirt I was eyeing on eBay was taken down by the seller, so I can't fulfill my floral velvet craving that way, and there are no other Nostalgia or Starina velvet skirts out there right now. But! There are a couple of Nostalgia floral velvet dresses, which I could easily turn into skirts:

(This is the one I'm really tempted by.)
Speaking of vintage Nostalgia brand velvet: I had this dress in the 90s. I also had it in black. I lived in them.

I recently found one of the black versions and snapped it up. Not because it will fit me (just like the maroon one won't fit me), but Back In The Day, once those dresses stopped fitting me, I took off the sleeves, split them up the front, and added lacing loops, thus turning them into long lace-up vests. That's exactly what I plan to do with the black one I found, and I'm strongly considering getting this maroon one and doing the same.
On the one hand (foot?), I've been lusting after these metallic burgundy Fluevogs for months now:

On the other hand, for about the same price, I could get these shoes custom-made for me:

AND one of these pairs of boots:

I'm kinda-sorta leaning towards getting two pairs from GothPikes, because OMG Olde Skool goth footwear of my dreams, and everyone I know who has purchased shoes and boots from GothPikes has been very, very impressed with their quality and construction. Buuuuut, OMG metallic burgundy Fluevogs. But the decision won't be made until I toddle down to the Fluevog store and see what that color looks like in real life, not on a monitor.
Other than shallow fashion coveting? I didn't manage my 6am meeting this morning, because I woke up with a sinus headache that made me want to indulge in self-trepanation, then pack my sinuses with ice. So I went back to bed for five hours. But my team was understanding about it, and I still haven't had any sign of the tension migraines, so that's kind of awesome.
The first expedition for THREAT LEVEL: PUMPKIN happened last weekend, and was a lot of fun. I mostly bought black and burgundy faux roses, because they only come out for Halloween, and they're the best ones for decorating hats and making flower crowns.
So, how are you folks doing? EVERYONE POST MORE, DAMMIT, I WANT LONG FORM BLOGGING TO COME BACK.

Is there something in the air, maybe? I crawled out of bed after a solid seven hours' sleep and after I was upright for about 20 minutes some tiny miners started drilling in my eyesocket, which, despite tylenol and ibu, traveled to my upper and lower jaws and compromised my vision. It took caffeine, and a banana I didn't want but knew I needed, and about three hours of not acccomplishing much before it eased off. It hasn't gone completely away, but I've been able to get some stuff done, so that's a plus.
I posted one pic and a link to more yesterday. We got the keys displayed, and I think it turned out pretty well. You've seen my living room. It's...changed. I think for the better.
I don't know if this is welcome news or not, but did you know Reeces makes peanut butter *bats* for Halloween? I always think their peanut butter eggs for Easter are better than their standard PBC. Wonder if the bats are, as well?

I have been trying to keep my shopping nostalgia focused on smaller things like jewelry.
My one splurge that counts as Halloween decor and accessory was this parasol:

I have never had shoes custom made for my feet, so that sounds like a real luxury! And those bat-buckle flats actually look like they would be comfortable. The 'vogs are gorgeous but I would also wait to see them in person. Fluevog quality is really spotty now. I really wanted the "Pilgrim" single-buckle shoes--I still do, really--but couldn't bring myself to pay what they cost when I realized the heel was just hollow plastic wrapped in thin leather, and not a solid stacked heel. These look like they might have real heels, though!

I can't indulge in serious fashion cravings until I clean out my closet and dresser. I need a standard pair of punk style combat boots (the old ones finally wore out after >ahem< 40 >ahem< years. I'm also craving ridiculous pin-up shoes, if I can find them with low enough heels.
