It's Lipstick A Day May over in Tumblr-land.



NYX soft matte lip creme in Transylvania. Of course I own a lip color named Transylvania.

While digging through one of my makeup drawers, I ran across my pot of Gothica Lip Hybrid from House of Beauty. IIRC, it feathered and smudged on me, but I'm willing to give it another try tomorrow. More interestingly, tho', is the statement from House of Beauty that the Lip Hybrids are eye safe. I emailed them to double-check, and they said that yes, they were. Don't use them on the waterline, but otherwise, safe! Hmmmm. I'd love to use Gothica (or Cabernet!) as a lid color & liner. I wonder how sticky it would be ...

Lipstick makes a fun lid color. I have used mine for such a purpose when I needed a redo but was out and about, once or twice. Go thin and blot up- it generally works a bit like eyeliner.

But that does remind me, the ghost whisperer series feature Jennifer love Hewitt in multiple close ups of her smokey smudgy makeup, if you want ideas of how to make it work. I think the key may be starting with something softer than black to get the hang of it, and building up to darker.

Even when applied thinly with a brush, I always had to use loose powder when using lip color elsewhere on my face. Do you powder, or are blotting sheets enough to make it behave?
