Sooooo the 3"-4" of my hair closest to my roots are now dark burgundy, while the ends are black. The white strands are brilliant pomegranate, and match my preferred lipstick colors. The side streaks are still pink.

I decided (after much back & forth with RealHusband), that even going to a professional was no guarantee that I'd get evenly cupcake pink hair. And then I started having recurring dreams of having dark rose red hair with pink streaks.

Ta-da!

"Fetching" is the word that comes to mind, both the hair and the dress.

that's lovely! i've had my hair (which is just a couple inches shorter than yours) the color virgin rose by sfx for years now...the only issue being that sfx is notoriously unreliable with supply against demand.

which leaves me at an inch of roots, and the statement "maybe available in 4 or 5 months". *sighs* i had a hairdresser friend recommend the ion brand. we'll see.

in the meantime, i can look at other people's beautiful hair...and yours is SO very lovely!!

I've heard great things about SFX Virgin Rose, but I also know all about the unreliable supply.

Shockingly, SPLAT brand Crimson Obsession seems to be pretty well. Which shouldn't be a surprise to me, because their Rose Fetish is the color I use for the pink streaks (heavily diluted), and it's fantastic.

If SFX is out of stock, I suggest Pravana. It's the second best that I've found and is also I believe vegetable based. I think I have three bottles of the SFX Deep Purple now from when they ran out for like a year...

I got the Ion slapped on today... mix of magenta and hottie pink. :) so far it looks good, of course that's not looking in sunlight yet!

I love SFX so much, I just wish their production was not so hit-and-miss.

Oooh! I really like the bright pink. It stands out amazingly well against the burgundy-black. :)
