The seven interests of mine that [livejournal.com profile] bittergourd asked about:

Caitlin R. Kiernan
Caitlin is one of my favorite authors. I consider her a literary heir to Ray Bradbury, and she writes ... horror-tinged dark urban fantasy. She is one of the only authors who is capable of creeping me out, to the point where I can't read her novels after dark or if I'm alone in the house. (She's also a very cool person who I am lucky enough to know, and would dearly love to be able to hang out with her more often.)

Supernatural alternate history
One of my favorite genres, and it's just what it sounds like. Alternate history fiction, but with the difference being something like, oh, magic works. (A College of Magics by Caroline Stevermer.) Or there are dragons. (His Majesty's Dragon by Naomi Novak.) Or the fearless vampire hunters didn't drive Dracula away from Carfax Abbey, and he goes on to marry Queen Victoria and becomes Prince Regent. (Anno Dracula by Kim Newman.)

The Muppets
The Muppets! Who doesn't love the Muppets, I ask you? It was one of my childhood dreams to be on the Muppet Show. (Wait, does it count as a childhood dream if you still want to do it?)

Buffistas An online community I'm part of. We started out as fans of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and grew into a close-knit and supportive community. There are quite a few people from the Buffistas that I consider family. We talk about everything, and there's a lot in my life that I owe to them.

Blank books
I love blank books. I have a bunch of them. (I need to actually fill up more than a few pages in each of them.) I use them for story and GCS ideas, for wardrobe planning notes, to record tarot readings, and sometimes even to start keeping a handwritten journal. (That last one never lasts very long.)

The Black Parage
Argh, typo! That should read The Black Parade (I just checked my interests, and it does, thank goodness). The Black Parade is the most recent album by My Chemical Romance. It is wildly theatrical, and their most ambitious offering to date. The band dove headlong into the aesthetic The Black Parade demanded, and had outfits that made them look like the deathrock version of Sgt. Pepper's. Black and silver military jackets and eyeliner! How could I not adore them?

Gingerbread bats
Every year, I make batches of gingerbread cookies (clicky link to the recipe!) in the shape of bats. I have a small collection of bat cookie cutters (and am always looking for more). In fact, it is getting to the Proper Time of Year for gingerbread bat baking ...

The seven interests meme thingy. While *I* think the interests listed in my profile are all pretty self-explanatory, maybe other people don't. If you feel like it, tell me which seven interests you want me to explain.
