I survived Kansas.
The convention was fun; again, F&F manages to be one of the best-organized and most laid-back conventions I've been to. (A comment that will only make sense to PNW olde skool con goers: it's like a cozier version of 80s/90s era DreamCon, but without some of the, ahem, Personalities that always caused drama and chaos.)
It was great to catch up with people I'd met last year and meet new peeps. A six year old girl (daughter of one of the other vendors) imprinted on me like a duckling, and spent a fair amount of time telling me which Monster High character she likes best, why Elsa should make more "big snow monsters!", and asking me to draw more swirly bits on her face with the eyeliner pencil she got in the Elder Goth Surprise bag her dad bought. She was adorable, and reminded me a lot of Thekla.
The Stroppy One and the kitties are THRILLED that I am home. I went to the spa last night for a few hours, and I'm spending today (which I cleverly took off from work) to flop on the couch in between setting up loads of laundry. And maaaaybe watching the Penny Dreadful s2 premier for a 4th time, because why not?
Next travel event: OH MY G-D BATS DAY NEXT MONTH! DISNEYLAND! HAUNTED MANSION!
