I'm working from home today. I worked from home yesterday. The reason? Oh, I made a classic error when I went out dancing on Friday night. (No, not the boots before corset error.)
I wore boots with grippy traction soles when I went dancing. Grippy traction soles do NOT work well with my style of goth dancing. So at one point, I managed to catch one of my boot heels on the lowest rung of my hoop skirt, and sat down rather abruptly. (The StuntHusband says that it looked completely intentional and part of my dancing; he didn't know it was an accident until he got a look at my face.)
What this means is that my lower back is Not Happy with me. And because I have a pretty high pain tolerance, I merrily ignored the twinges and spent all of Sunday afternoon going up and down stairs and moving boxes. That was not clever of me, no. I am now propped up on the couch with assorted laptops and notebooks, and I see my wonderful chiropractor tomorrow before I go to the office.
---
Gah. I have SO MANY sewing projects I want to work on (at least 3 different skirts, not to mention two jacket alterations), but I know that I should not distract myself with such things, and really, REALLY need to knuckle down and work on writing. There are not enough hours in the day, I tell you.
---
EDITED TO ADD: Thanks to one of the alternative/dark fashion tumblr feeds I follow, I just saw someone asking where to find velvet leggings. Now is the time for all of us ElderGoths to feel old. Also, a note for the hipster-goth, terribly fashion-forward types: Leggings ARE NOT pants. Listen to us ElderGoths, please.
