• small flat metal case holding blotting papers


• small flat b&w striped flashlight (when I say small, I mean 3"x5", and about 1/4" thick)


• tiny green velvet heart (good luck charm)


• eye drops


• house keys, spare car key for stroppy_baggage


• silver pill box


• two small metal tins of mints: one containing organic peppermints, one containing mints made with cocoa powder




And yes, I consider all of those "essential". There's a REASON I carry box purses. Other than being able to break the wrists of potential muggers, that is.

I keep carrying handkerchiefs (as you know, a lady does) and then *losing* them. I bet Elizabeth Bennet didn't have that problem.

egad. I haven't carried a "purse" for a while now. I have grown accoustomed to being on the bus or at a location long enough to need a few other things. So I carry a professor type bag. with notebooks and such. *rolls eyes at self*

You have LOVELY things in your handbag. Which is just as one would expect.

I am curious about the blotting paper. Do you find it neccesary for your pen? I mean, I grew up using fountain pens at high school, and blotting paper, but I've never had recourse to it in adulthood because I find that ink usually dries very swiftly. Possibly this is not true of your gloriously gothic sounding ink, though.
