Sir Terry Pratchett passed away.

To say that his fiction helped shape who I am today is an understatement. His books about the Lancre witches, and especially the Tiffany Aching books, helped focus and articulate large, meandering thought about what witchcraft means to me.

He was amazingly kind. I had the very good fortune to meet him multiple times, and every time, he was unfailingly kind and friendly to everyone who came to the event. He loved meeting his fans.

I am petitioning The Universe right now: NEIL GAIMAN IS NOT ALLOWED TO DIE. AT LEAST ONE OF MY WRITING IDOLS NEEDS TO BE IMMORTAL, DAMMIT.

Such sad news! I'm sorry you lost one of your favorite writers. I join you in your request to The Universe regarding Neil Gaiman.

Considering all the deaths the past couple of months I'd like to petition the Universe to put a cork in it and stop this nonsense across the board right now.

I think I know exactly how you feel. :(

This is heartbreaking news, and the first I have heard of it.

Was it the Sick that got him (directly or indirectly)? I know he has been ill for quite a long while.
