And because I told [livejournal.com profile] trystbat that I would:

  • black platform sandals

  • b&w striped fishtail stretchy skirt

  • black rayon slip dress w/ lace trim

  • black lace jacket w/ ruffly 3/4-length sleeves

  • antique jet bead choker w/ a cameo locket

  • hair in a bun, hidden under a wide-brimmed black straw sunhat decorated with clouds of black tulle and a giant b&w striped satin bow (complete with antique rhinestone buckle AND a resin replica of a crow skull in the center of the bow)

  • oodles of sunblock, a light dusting of Aromaleigh mineral foundation, shimmery pale pink eyeshadow, black liquid eyeliner, mascara, and Vamp lipstick

  • a bracelet made from black stretch velvet ribbon and rhinestone letters that spell out "perkygoth"

  • the usual collection of giant rings

Today, I went out to lunch with a former co-worker from my last contract. She's a very cool lady, and assured me that the team is breathlessly awaiting budget info so they can figure out how soon they can hire me back. It was nice to be told that.

Last night, I managed (thanks to the kindness of [livejournal.com profile] stroppy_baggage, who drove me there AND picked me up) to make it out to Goth Night at the Vogue. Club-going SFDs:

  • black lace-up boots

  • white cotton hoopskirt, worn under a white lace & chiffon ruffled skirt from a thrift store wedding dress

  • white cotton ruffly poet's blouse

  • purple & black brocade Victorian overbust corset

  • hair pulled up under a top hat decorated with a huge tulle bow and a crystal spider pin

  • a slightly heavier dusting of Aromaleigh mineral foundation, sheer pinkish-gold shimmer eyeshadow with burgundy shadow in the crease, black liquid eyeliner (including some teeny-tiny swirls at the corners), black mascara, silver glitter, and Vamp lipstick

Of course, right now I'm sitting around the house in b&w striped bloomers with white lace trim and a black rayon, lace-trimmed slip dress. Have I mentioned I hate summer heat yet this year? Well, I do. Autumnal temperatures and cloudy days can start ANY TIME NOW. No, really.

I was thinking since you and Alexia keep threatening, I should have you dress me up with what you think I should wear and let you make me up, since my makeup technique is utilitarian at best.

Pretty please? You could make me pretty!

Oh, dear - you'd be adorable...

Pbth to your "utilitarian" makeup - I love what your eyeshadow does for your eyes. Teach me?

> I love what your eyeshadow does for your eyes.

I feel like i just play with it, especially with so many people that we know that have such glamor girl make-up. But thank YOU!

It's going to get worse before it gets better.

Thus, I justified ordering another pair of strappy platform sandals.

I can empathize on your not liking the temperature, as I felt miserable in Minnesota's deep freezes. However, I must say I am wishing for the hot to continue, as I don't hurt right now, and I am liking not being in pain.

However, I do miss wearing all my pretty velvets. So once fall hits, I'll be cheering along with you. Mixed up, I know.

And yes, we are breathlessly awaiting your return. If for no other reason that we get to see your lovely outfits in person. But also because you are awesome in your powers of editing. :)

Dammit, I wish people dressed up like that here! If I wear anything even remotely over the top to the club I feel out of place. Doesn't stop me, though. :-P

I am going to read what you sent me, I just don't have the right application loaded up on my new laptop yet. I'm not ignoring you!

Every time someone wandered up into the DJ booth (where I was keeping [livejournal.com profile] djeternaldarkne company), they would exclaim over my outfit. Bless 'em. Everyone also asked "Aren't you roasting in that?". Silly people. All lightweight fabric! Hoop skirt keeping fabric off legs!

I figured you weren't ignoring me. :-)

Maybe they assumed you had 10 miles of petticoats underneath your skirt instead of a hoop? Not that you can really get the same shape...anyhoo, if I wore a hoop skirt to a goth night around here people would fall over gawking. heh. Maybe I should try it! :-P

I'll try to get to your article tonight. :-D

Yay! Love the SFDs. Several spiffy outfits in one post ;-)

From: [identity profile] staxxy.livejournal.com

I think any SFDs from me, this week, would simply HORRIFY anyone. ;) egad.

It is nice to know that you are helping with the Seattle beautification project by taking on the lions share yet again. ;)
