I've been idly thinking about getting acrylic nails. Yes, I want long, pointy, claws. But! I decided that I should probably do some practice long nails, to see if they will drive me insane or not. After some reading around, I found many glowing reviews for the Broadway ImPRESS stick-on nails. Plus, the gothy-goth designs they released for Halloween are still available on eBay.

Also, i recommend going for gel if you are going to start in with fake nails. They are less likely to pop off due to wear and tear. It is easier to find places that do acrulic though.

So this is only kind of related, but it synchronistically came across Twitter right after I read this post: 3D-printed nail art (http://thelasergirls.tumblr.com/). It's not necessarily gothy, but some straddles that industrialesque line, and it's definitely nifty.

i have natural pointy nails right now and they are a PAIN since it's easy to snap the tips off, i have gotten used to them though and i'm not jabbing myself as much w/ tham anymore :)

Compromised immune system so I can't wear fake nails the risk for fungal infections is high. I like this pretty press on set. Nice alternative.
