I switched purses again, because as much as I love my metal coffin purse, it takes about a month before I get tired of having to take everything out of it any time I need to going something.

So! I found this vintage Coach bag for dirt cheap on eBay (I paid more for shipping than I did for the bag), and spent last night sewing a skeleton hand onto it. As one does. DIY TIP: using an old-school seam ripper to punch holes in the leather for the needle to go through cuts down on a LOT of the frustration.

That is really beautiful!

Myself, I swapped out my backpack for a gray cat ninja shoulder bag I got at Sakura-Con.

Never thought of using a seam ripper! :D
Last time I had to punch holes in leather I used the point of a thick, cast iron brooch XD >_> <_<

very nicely done!

I need to do some serious customizing to my purses and bags, this summer. I fear I shan't be prepared for any sort of handwork before then, with being laid up setting our unpacking and organizing plans back a fair bit.

I still use the Coach "hippy bag" that used to belong to [livejournal.com profile] alexiarnps. I think my next bag will be Coach, too.
