I am delighted that I got to spend my evening out with some of our loved ones as well (although 'out' is relative as I was at a wee small gathering at the home of far flung friends, but still, it's out of my own house).
i wasn't, and I am still not, feeling well enough to do so. However, I love many of the people that being here meant i could see enough to come out *anyway*, including one of my favorite children (turns three in January, sees me maybe once every 4 months at best, and talks about and misses me when he doesn't - it's pretty impressive for so small a person to remember anyone they do not see more than once a month, and that gives me a lot of squee, plus, charming, sweet, and delightful on top of that).
So I am still here. They are all very gentle with me and my migraine, make me espresso, give me cuddles, and the ability to hide in the dark and quiet at any moment, and generally look after me pretty well. I would have less care at home than I get here even.
I think I should also point out that the place I went to is about 20 minutes from my house, and does not require me to go anywhere remotely near any of the large cities nearby to get to. Should I have needed to go home immediately, it would have been no difficulty to make that happen within an hour, even if that meant my roomie needing to come get me (and this place is close enough that he would hop out to do so).
