Interesting project. I'm inclined to like a Varney-centered project anyway -- since I'm interested enough in Victorian pop culture to have a phone-book sized reprint of the original Varney in my collection. The video on their Kickstarter page was, well, fairly unfunny and not a big motivator, but I really like the excerpt you've shown, which definitely makes me want to read the comic.
