When, if ever, did you start liking olives?
I loved canned black olives when I was a kid. Kalamata olives are great, and I've never actually tried green olives.

Eeew. Beer icky.
When, if ever, did you start liking shellfish?
Tempura shrimp when my parents took me out for Chinese food (mmm, deep-fried bugs of the sea!)
What was the best thing your mum/dad/guardian used to make?
"Lou Wongs Chinese Chicken Gunk"; named by a childhood best friend, it's essentially chicken & vegetable stir fry with a specific sauce that only my mom knows how to make.
What's the native specialty of your home town?
Historically, I believe it's Applets and Cotlets. However, I'm going to be a brat and say poorly-roasted coffee (thank you, Starbucks).
What's your comfort food?
Well-made macaroni & cheese (not out of a box), dark chocolate, chips & salsa.
What's your favorite type of chocolate?
65 -70% cocoa extract extra dark chocolate. It's even better if it comes with ginger, berries, cherries, or pink peppercorns.
How do you like your steak?
Rare to medium rare.
How do you like your burger?
Medium rare, with bacon and gorgonzola cheese.
How do you like your eggs?
Scrambled with extra-sharp cheddar and organic ham.
How do you like your potatoes?
The mashed potatoes Alexia makes: Mashed, unpeeled red potatoes with butter, garlic, salt, pepper, sour cream and parsley. Extra-crispy & salty fries are very, very good too.
How do you take your coffee?
One sugar and a smidge of cream. Unless we're talking frou-frou espresso drinks, where I like to get double-short soy milk mochas with cinnamon or cherry. (Monkey Grind Espresso in Greenwood makes the best ones!)
How do you take your tea?
With a smidge of honey. I have an entire cabinet of different teas, and I really should start using them more.
What's your favourite mug?
Either the one with Death from the Sandman comics on it, or the one with the little ceramic bunny at the bottom; as you drink more of the coffee, more of the bunny becomes visible (no, it's not drowning in the coffee, that's it's natural habitat. Caffinated rabbits, coming soon to the Evil Bunny Alliance!)

What's your ideal breakfast?
Pumpkin-ginger waffle, with a side order of 1 egg, 2 sausages, and fresh berries.
What's your ideal sandwich?
Grilled cheese made with extra-sharp cheddar. If you want to get *really* fancy, add some thinly-sliced granny smith apple.
What's your ideal pizza (topping and base)?
Herb crust, a nice rich tomato sauce, pepperoni, olives, diced roma tomatos, and lots of mozzarella.
What's your ideal pie (sweet or savory)?
Sweet? I'm going with
Apple with lots of spices (including clove, black pepper and cardamom) with Cheddar cheese melted on top or a scoop of vanilla ice cream with the little specs of vanilla bean.
Savory?
Traditional chicken pot pie.
What's your ideal salad?
Spring greens, diced pears, dried cherries, toasted walnuts, goat cheese, and lavender honey-mustard dressing.
What food do you always like to have in the fridge?
Brie, other cheeses, almond butter, cream, eggs, chicken breasts, baby spinach, steak, black truffle cream.
What food do you always like to have in the freezer? Frozen blueberries, Whole Foods chicken taquitos.
