Today is my mother's birthday. I miss you, Mom.

---
I may call upon the local LJ hivemind soon for help with polishing Dad's resume and job hunting. His workplace is stressful and toxic, and he doesn't need that, especially right now.
---
In completely shallow news, this is the auction I'm stalking. (clicky-link) Yes, a limited-edition velvet jacket from 2006, designed by Gerard Way of MCR. Which I wanted when it was originally released, but couldn't quite convince myself to buy it. (The fandom had not fully claimed me at that point.) I figure none of you are quite as crazy as I am, and thus will not bid on it.
---
I have the best friends in the world. I know I've said this before, but it should be repeated. Thank you, everyone, who has been propping me up.

Getting down out of that office is a great plan. It's loooooong over due, but I agree that now it must go.
I hope you win the jacket. You need more happy this month.
I am just sorry I can not do more for you from here. :/

Me: That's Jilli.
Matilda: Her mom died.
Me: Yeah, see that picture? That's her mom and her dad in that picture. Today is her mom's birthday.
Matilda: She didn't get to blow her candles out!
Me: What do you think Jilli should do?
Matilda: She should blow her candle out for her.
Me: It's a nice picture.
Matilda: They love each other. Who made her mom die?
Me: Nobody. She just got very sick.
Matilda: It's sad. Maybe we could see her on Sunday?
JZ: She's far away. She lives near Lilly.
Matilda: In Seattle.
Me: Maybe we could send a card.
Matilda: We could draw a picture.

In other completely unrelated business, a friend sent me a Web site that had me squee-ing in a way that only Gothy cuteness can: http://www.vamplets.com/
If you haven't already witnessed the wicked glee and joy, please do so with my compliments. Toys can't fix life's Very Bad Things, but they can give us enough of a boost to help us get through.
Yours,
Amy
