So the question is now cold or flu? And whooo, do I feel wretched. The Stroppy One let me sleep until 11:30 (blessed, blessed Nyquil-enhanced sleep), and now I am either too hot or too cold, woozy, and have a kinda consumptive-sounding cough. This is not what I asked for, I would like to return it.

Ugh. Flopping on the couch it is.

Try some hot tea? I find that Traditional Medicinals' Gypsy Cold Care tea makes it easier to get through the day when I'm sick. Hope you feel better and are back to your darkly sparkly self soon.

mucinex, fruity teas and juices, chicken broth, lots of water. definitely mucinex though, it will break down the added mucus (including that dreadful cough), without doing anything ELSE. Nyquil does lots of extra things that may help or they may make things worse and the number one thing it is missing is expectorant. See if Pete will go grab some for you at the store, if you do not have any there.

Thing is that Nyquil is for helping one sleep. Expectorant's are for helping one cough up the junk in the lungs and it not all that conducive to sleep. So, yeah, something with an expectorant for daytime use would be best but you *do* also need your sleep.

I finally had to be given a cough syrup with codeine in it so I could get some sleep when I had a particularly bad case of bronchitis a few years back... Blerg.

Hope you feel better soon!

the issue I have with NyQuil is that it is not *just* for sleep. It has a LOT of crap in it. I appreciate taking it for sleeping, but yes... something better for day time is the best plan (by which I mean *not* DayQuil).

I went to a fabric store today to get some patches for my work pants . . . and say some skull trim with the cutest skulls and cross bones that appeared to be iron on! I thought of you and wanted to send it to you immediately!

Slow onset (over the course of hours) is usually a cold. Might be a nasty cold.

PS, I woke up with a slightly scratchy throat which has progressed to "Waaaaaaaaaaa! I don't wanna be sick!!"

I'd blame you, but we both got sick at the same damn time. So. Meh!

Hot tea with a touch of whisky innit (after you've taken in plenty of vitamin C and are well hydrated).
