Well THAT'S a first, or, Adventures in Packing

In packing for the Vampire Ball, the main compartment of my giant suitcase was filled SOLELY with mine and cass404's outfits for Saturday night. Hoop skirt, petticoats, skirts, overdresses, and corset. Giant dresses for the win!

I pack mine by laying the hoopskirt flat, nesting the boning, folding it in half in the middle, and tying a string around the "bundle" to hold it together. Most boning is flexible enough and has enough spring that it'll pop back into shape when it's set free, although the more you do this the less spring it will have.

Lay the hoopskirt flat, so the hoops nest inside each other. Then pick up one edge, twist the hoops into a figure-eight/fold in half, place in the bottom of your suitcase, and then pack the rest of your clothes on top.

This sounds like the Giant Duffel I took as an overnight bag for a visit that involved clubbing, because I needed my boots, and a crinoline for under my dress, and the big tubular-crinoline hair falls. Have fun!
