A good start to my new job (which starts tomorrow): my recruiter left voicemail for me today to let me know that my new boss had contacted her; he wanted to let me know that if the predicted snow hits tonight, I shouldn't worry about getting into the office tomorrow, because there's a chance that he won't be in either.

Hurrah! A reasonable (sounding) manager!

That's a stroke of luck!

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that I don't think the snow threat will materialize, but it's good to know you have permission to stay home.

On a completely unrelated note, my Creme de la Mer (or Cream of Lemur, as it has become known in our household) just arrived. What advice can you offer on how to use it to get the best results? Holy moley, those samples are teeny tiny, and I don't want to waste this stuff...

Right, we need to email back and forth and arrange commuting time if you are still interested in carpooling.

That sounds like a very good sign. I hope the job goes (or, if you didn't get the snow, is going) well.

YAY! It's snowing! Run outside and enjoy it on your combination first day and first day off!

Re: That's a stroke of luck!

So, how much of the non-materializing snow did you get at your place? :-)

Creme de la Mer: run your finger across the top of the jar until you have a blob about the size of a dime. Tap that amount between two fingers, then pat onto your skin. You don't need to use very much at a time.

(Search for more info on the alt.fashion newsgroup—that's where I found the most help.)

Well, here downtown we have about two nonexistent inches of the stuff. :-| It would be nice if our employer did the humane thing and cut us loose early, but I'm not holding my breath.

So that is a flat, dime-ish glob? Or kind of a roundy glob? I'm not good at this girl stuff. But I will go search for more info!

Definitely sounds like a positive sign!

I bet it's the snow that's downed all in-and-out network traffic to Microsoft! I was getting nervous that North Korea had nuked you guys or something after my sixth hour of failing to breach the network >g<

Best,
Chris
