Tonight is the night of a family tradition: Dad and I go Christmas shopping. We have done this for ... well, since I was very small. We will go have dinner, try and figure out what the heck to get cupcakegothmom as presents, and generally hang out and have a good time. Yes, I deliberately wore my skelly Docs to try and ward off the inevitable "Are you a Christmas caroler?" questions that my top hat seems to inspire. Yeah yeah, I know, I'm still going to be asked that.

Note To Self: you need to track down more silver kilt pins, because they work very well as a vaguely punk-ish way to turn pendants into brooches.

I need to take another bash at writing the post that will be the intro to the more informal reviews section on GCS. I would say maybe tomorrow night, but ahahahahaah. I need to wrap presents. I also need to email the delightful organizers of the Mourning Market and talk to them about a possible GCS reading at the next one.

Oh yes, I use kilt pins to turn bracelets and necklaces into brooches as well. It makes for a very interesting accessory!

A lot of my skirts are the "dolly bustle skirt" from Retrosocpe Fashions (www.retroscopefashions.com), and then I customize them with appliques and whatnot. The skirts that I make myself are from a pattern that I drafted off of the "dolly bustle skirt".

Mr. Husband and I are moving from our current home in London to Edinburgh over the summer. I'll have to gather some kilt pins for you; they'll be easy enough to come by for me!
As far as the caroling issue goes, I've had a silly idea for years about trying to get together a bunch of other Goths to go 'round singing "Nightmare" songs instead of Christmas carols.

The Fabulous StuntHusband and myself have been threatening to start a Nightmare Before Christmas caroling group for years, but neither of us are organized to do it.

(My real husband, the Stroppy One, just shakes his head at us whenever the StuntHusband and I start wittering on about this.)

Nope. Definatly not a caroler, unless Tim Burton has his own version of "A Christmas Carol". But Nightmare Before Christmas caroling sounds fun. ^_^
