Last night ended up being, due to a handful of reasons, a Very Not Good Night. As a result, I am feeling pretty wrecked today. To forestall worried questions, things are fine, really they are. But I have that post-crying hangover feeling, and feel a bit emotionally tender.
So! My outfit today includes the pink & black Bunnicula skirt of Great Emotional Comfort, and I am going to spend the day switching between listening to the Sepiachord Field Guide and playlists
staxxy made for me.
The other thing I do when I feel a bit raw and tender around the edges of my psyche? Turn to you people, of course, and ask you to tell me good things. Something nifty happened in your world recently? Please tell me! Have pictures of adorable critters? Give me links! Discovered a shiny thing or a band you think I should know about? Tell me!
Now to drink tea, nibble on a scone, and edit some documentation.

I too won NaNoWriMo. This is my third win. However, the story was really hard to wrestle to the ground this time. It fought me every step of the way. Did it though (50044).

Here's what I'm doing today:
Another nice thing: Hubby got me a Wii with Wii Fit stuff all with hotel points, and it's quite nifty. My ab muscles are pleasantly sore.

Todd sent me these yesterday, they're from a couple days ago
Yes that is my little one, who passed out sitting up and fell face first into her playpen wall and just stayed there.
Really.

In the meantime, my own little snarkling continues to be cute beyond what is allowed by the Geneva Convention, and has discovered power buttons. Computer tower power buttons are his favorite. Be afraid.

Two weeks ago I officiated my sister in law's wedding. First time I've ever done it (probably the last since nearly everyone I know is now married) and I'm so happy to have been a part of it.
Our move has been bumped from June to January. And my husband's company is paying for it so I don't have to lift a finger! This is great news since I'm expecting baby bat #4. :)

Terrifically bad horror movies. Nothing puts me in a good mood faster than being able to snark it up over bad dialogue and worse acting. My personal favorite for this one is still Eternal Blood (http://www.amazon.com/Eternal-Blood-Juan-Pablo-Ogalde/dp/B000092T5X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1259789662&sr=8-1) which is a horribly dubbed Chilean vampire movie with some pretty special effects of the "special" variety. What's better about it is that for as much as the gothy people in it are kinda stereotypical, there are still some redeeming points to the plot so it's not completely pointless. (But the English dialogue alone is hilarious.)
If wickedly horrible cinema doesn't do it for you, allow me to point you to the band Diary of Dreams, if you haven't already heard of them. This is a German lad who enjoys writing bombast-y kind of music which is very gothy lyrically but also pretty dancey too. Clicky link here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lk1q91sxWUY) brings you to the song "The Curse" which is pretty good introduction to their sound.
Here's wishing you much tea, scones and a cupcake scented bath in hopes that you feel better soon. :)
