I was especially Gothic Victorian today, as I was all corseted up due to my shoulder being twinge-y.
- black pointy-toe lace-up boots
- 2 black cotton chemises (one sleeveless, one long-sleeved)
- burgundy brocade overbust Victorian corset
- black gored skirt w/ lace trim
- black high-collared batwing hem jacket
- my hair bundled up under the usual top hat w/ feathers
... plus the usual makeup (eyebrows, black liquid liner & mascara, Vamp lipstick), b&w leather gloves, and a black sparkly scarf that I knitted myself, out of yarn that looked like it had been spun from Muppets.
Today involved me wandering around Greenwood, trying to get some of my holiday shopping done. Even with the all-black outfit and darkdark red lipstick, various people still asked if I was a caroler.
The Thrift Store Powers That Be love me. They really, really do. Why? Because at one of the local antique/consignment/knick-knacky stores, I found a pair of SUPER pointy-toe Fluevog lace-up boots. The type he made in the early 90s with the little wooden blocks in the toes to give an even more exaggerated point than normal. Almost brand-new black and red NeoVictorian Fluevog boots. That fit me perfectly. For $35.
cackles
Why yes, I blew my allowance for the week. Oh well. Black and red witchy boots are worth it.
