The Stroppy One, proving yet again that he is indeed the Best Husband Ever, gave me a get-well soon present. (Another one, I should say, because he gave me a copy of Blueberry Girl by Neil Gaiman earlier in the week.)

This present? The Blu-Ray of A Company Of Wolves, which is one of my favorite movies ever. Yes, even though it's a werewolf movie. Have I mentioned how much I like Angela Carter's writing? I have a battered copy of The Bloody Chamber that sits on my comfort reading shelf; if only someone would make a movie similar to A Company Of Wolves out of "The Lady In The House Of Love"!

Have you seen these (http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5602388&section_id=5459934) adorable Mary Janes over at Etsy? I nearly died of cute.

Awwww! Husbands, so sweet! *smiles* See, now don't you feel better?

Yaaaaaay!

that is one of my all-time favorite films- I saw it at a very early and impressionable young age- and danielle dax is the wolfgirl, which you probably already knew, heh.

have you seen eyes of fire? people either really love it or really hate it, but I am of the former- I love period horror movie pieces with spirit...

Eyes of Fire is excellent (assuming we're talking about the one set in the early 19th century, and not the one also called Buck Naked Arson). sadly, it has never been released in a digital format to my knowledge. i have a beat-up videocassette of it, which i may replace someday soon with a less-beat-up copy.

heh, yes, I believe we're talking about the same one. I had a friend who had a movie poster for it- no idea how she got that!

This is weird

I just sent that back to Netflix. I saw it when it first came out (yes, I'm old) and have been on a werewolf kick the past two months and decided to see if it held up to my memory. More of a Ken Russell influence than I remembered, but still fun to catch up with an old friend.

Nice to see it still has a following. I thought it had been lost to the ages.

I love Angela Carter, and The Company of Wolves! I didn't realize it was out in Blu-Ray! *schemes to obtain a copy*

Go to Amazon.co.uk! That's where The Husband found it.

It was actually cheaper to have it shipped from Amazon UK than to buy it from the resellers that have it through Amazon US.

It's multi-region btw.

i love the werewolf films, myself, and The Company of Wolves is, to my mind, the very best of them.

I should replace my VHS copy of "Company of Wolves" eventually. It's wearing out. I love that movie. Angela Carter is awesome.

I've got an old, beloved copy of The Bloody Chamber as well :) I even referenced it for my chokers in the original Atrocities catalogue (and still do to this day!).
