Last night I wrote slightly over 3,000 words on the story that is due Real Soon Now. I have not yet looked at what feedback awaits me from my beta readers/sanity net, but I will. Any minute now.

Last night was also the night of my subconscious being wacky. Once I fell asleep (sometime after 3:30AM), I had another installment of my "we're at the best thrift store ever!" dream. [livejournal.com profile] poh once again found a pair of his "ninjer" boots, [livejournal.com profile] domestinatrix was loading up a cart with canning jars, I was clutching a brand-new pair of the Dr. Marten "Skelly" boots AND a b&w striped military jacket with rows and rows of silver buttons, and The Husband had just walked up brandishing a first edition of Something Wicked This Way Comes. And then people ran into the store screaming about a zombie attack. Look, I don't understand it either, but it's still a better dream than the recurring stress nightmare where I'm stuck back working at Fred Meyer.

---

I have realized that at some point I need to get a small soldering iron, because there are too many craft/jewelry projects I want to do that would be SO MUCH SIMPLER if I had one. Anyone have any recommendations for a good one?

---

Okay, going to look at the feedback on the story. Really. Right now.

I shan't have any time to do soldering projects for a while, if you would like to simply borrow *mine*. It will enable you to try it out and see what you do and do not like about them, and that will help you choose a better one in the future, for yourself. :)

and Eric

is the handy guy for that - I wish I still had Tor - He would do stuff for you anytime. Ah well...

Zombies tend to be the apocalyptic traveling minstrels of dreams.

I can suggest that you NOT get the cold soldering iron.. (it super cools off after each piece you solder)

It sucks and didn't work well.

After reading your LJ the last few weeks, I bought your book earlier today and then sat in a coffee shop and read it straight through.

WONDERFUL!

Thank you for this amazing contribution to Gothic culture!

Recurring stress dream eh? I have a nightmare kind of like that, except its about being in an abusive relationship and/or married to a former boss who is about 10 years older than me and was a real asshole to me while I worked for him. Eeek! :-( I don't know why I keep dreaming about having a relationship with him when he is the LEAST likely person I would ever want to be with!

Heh I also have those dreams where I go to an op-shop and they have the most AWESOME clothes really cheap but then I wake up and I'm sad it was only a dream...
Now zombie dreams they are a whole other kettle of fish... generally in a bad way...

A craft store should have a nice, smallish soldering gun that should do nicely. I have a couple at the computer store I work at, for fixing small things, and I'm sure they'd be equally suitable for jewelry projects as they would for re-soldering tiny little jumper pins. ^_^

If there's going to be zombies, those jars had better all be the vintage Ball Perfect Masons or Atlas Strong Shoulders.
