See my ignorance. Are these two sites pretty big deals?

A brief review of Gothic Charm School on nypress.com. (clicky-link!)

The Gothic Charm School picnic at Green-Wood Cemetery in Time Out New York. (clicky-link!) (And another Time Out clicky-link!)

Okay, I know that Time Out is a kinda big deal, but I have no idea about nypress.com. Do any of you know? Info, peoples, give me info!

---

Alllllllso, there is some exciting Gothic Charm School -related news that can be revealed, oh, next week-ish. Now I just need to find time to get more writing done!

---

In other news, still coveting outrageously expensive Fluevog boots, drat it all.

You're getting your own show on E!, aren't you.

Have you owned Fluevog boots before? I find that they don't fit my calves. Therefore I opt for the shoes. Also they tend to run small IMO.

From: [identity profile] brumbjorn.livejournal.com

I hear you on the calves thing. The Countess Olivia are the only boots I can wear consistently and that is because they lace up. I have one pair I can barely zip up. I think I need to start working out.

I hate Fluevog sizing -- I can wear anything from an 8.5 to a 10 (usually a 9) depending on the style of the shoe and NOTHING with pointy toes as a rule from them. The whole teapot line was a no go. I still regret selling my Grand National shoes. I saved forever for them and turned my ankle really bad the first time I wore them.

Yes, I have an unhealthy love for the 'Vogs.

Do you have a publicist sending out announcements?

From: [identity profile] modpixie.livejournal.com

Time Out NY: Hipster mag about what's going on that week. The staff includes Stephin Merritt and Gail from Chickfactor. It's kind of a big deal.

NY Press: Icky conservative tabloidy newspaper with very unfortunate cartoons. Big readership, but otherwise: Not so much.

Hmm, but any press is good press, right? Big readership is a bonus.

How great to hear you're featured in Time Out ~ they really seem to keep on top of things :)

Remember this?

http://kambriel.livejournal.com/174931.html

We found it on our first day in NYC last year ~ I hope you'll be able to get your hands on an issue with your feature... they seemed to sell out quickly last time!

We have a subscription to Time Out New York (also known as TONY) courtesy of Mike's dad. Want me to keep an eye out for the print edition of that for you?

And I join you in the coveting of those books. They came in two other colourways (Pale'dark green and Pink/Cranberry) that I wanted BADLY for work as they went with several pantsuits I used to wear. IS it so bad that I wanted all three?

From: [identity profile] cupcake-goth.livejournal.com

If you could keep an eye out for the print edition, that would be FANTASTIC.

Wait, the Babycakes came in a pink/cranberry colorway? Dear Sainted Imelda, I feel a bout of stalking eBay looming before me.

From: [identity profile] brumbjorn.livejournal.com

Yep. Pink on the front with cranberry buttons I seem to remember. They were a special color made for a store.

THESE are the ones I REALLY wanted. The picture is awful. They are black with the grey textured leather (if you remember the shoes I wore to the library, same leather)

I seriously thought about skipping a two months of lunches to buy those.

There having a sale today
Loook

From: [identity profile] spitecandy.livejournal.com

yeah, I got that email but everything I want is still way too much for a jobless tart like me

From: [identity profile] jaborwhalky.livejournal.com

I also hope there will be more about the NYC deal with press and such.

I have four fears with the 18th
It will rain though the weather web site says it will not
Not enough people will come but I always have that fear with anything and it always works out
You will not be happy some how.
Press will say yes they are showing up and then flake out.

But it will work out

Speaking of boots, I saw these (http://www.trashy.com/Whimsey-115-Boots.13989-product.htm) (clicky-link) the other day and thought of you. They're gorgeous in black.

do you have any need for a ride?

Just let me know - it would be good to get out of the house.
Congrats on the print - should help your event in NY.

Re: do you have any need for a ride?

We've got a friend from out of town visiting today, so I'm good right now. But maaaaaaybe next week, before I start traveling? How are you feeling?

Re: do you have any need for a ride?

I am still feeling smashed flat, but less than I was :}
I am trying to crawl out of the pit and have fun - and what is better than shopping with you????

From: [identity profile] paprykaspice.livejournal.com

I think what's awesome about the nypress review link-thing is that the cover of the book is printed AND it's on the top of the page over all the other books.

I find this to be a good thing. :3

God, I want Vogs, too. They can take a plain outfit and make it stunning. I will have those boots. When I have a job. Oh yes...

If I still lived near NYC, I would so be there next Saturday! I adore Greenwood Cemetery anyway; good memories. I forwarded the page from Time Out NY to my gay ex-boyfriend in NYC - he's Goth-affiliated and knows *everyone*, he'll probably spread the word around.
