I was officially turned down for the editing position I applied for last week. The hiring manager sent me a very nice email which said I "stood out in an exceptionally competitive field of candidates", but that my tech skills don't quite match what they're looking for. So, back to job hunt. In about 20 minutes, I meet my HR job search munchkin to talk about what resources are available to me and so on.

I think, in addition to editing positions (which are pretty scarce at the moment), I am also going to look for writing positions. Not technical "here, document these APIs" writing positions, but other content writing gigs. Because, well, I kind of HAVE shown that I can write. (I think. Look, just nod in agreement with me here, okay?)

I'll admit, being turned down for the position has made me a little disheartened. But I still feel confident that everything will work out.
