50 really isn't that many, i don't think it'd be that difficult.

If you're still thinking about doing it in a park and you're reasonably entertaining about it, people will just wander by and join the fun, because that's what happens. Could you get maybe a dozen people to confirm that they'll be there for sure, put the word out via the usual channels as well as how ever it is the publicity munchkin does her thing, and then maybe serve tea? I don't think that's an unrealistic goal at all. I do think you should make sure to do something really eye-catching if you're doing it in a park rather than at a book store.
