I metaphorically swooned around 3pm, told work I was out with a migraine, and headed to the spa by my house. I hate summer temperatures (I hate the Burning Orb more), but melting in the steam sauna or soaking in a hot pool, followed by soaking in the tepid pool is the most reliable way of getting rid of migraines for me.

(Well, and occasionally submerging myself in the 56 degree cold plunge pool. I hate it, but the shock to my system flushes the migraine out really damn effectively.)

Now to avoid the heat for the rest of the weekend! Wish me luck.

I am reeling at how hot it is this early in the summer. I expect a week or so of 90-100s in late July or August but this looks like a month of it all following right on the heels of the solstice. It sucks! I feel like I can't get clean.

Good luck taming the migraines. I also find that applied heat can calm them, but I never thought of using a hot spa/cold plunge. The shock to the circulatory system sounds like it definitely could knock out a migraine. I'm keeping this strategy in mind for the next time I need it. Sometimes I can't leave the house when a migraine hits, but maybe even a hot/cold shower would do it!
