::hat-tip to any Olde Skool a.g.f. folks around who know what GAF stands for::

It's 68 degrees and cloudy in Seattle, so I am indulging in ruffly layers. Again, I must say that I love, love, LOVE my Femininja Cowl blouse by Kambriel! I have yet to wear it the right-way-round, tho'. I wear it backwards so I can use the enormous hood as a jabot.

we should do an A.G.F reunion ... just converge on Salem (or somewhere, i just mention it because i'd like to go) and goth the FUCK out of the place for like three days. Just as an excuse to bring out our most amazing outfits.

I was in Salem (my old hometown) just last week! Where *were* you all??? ;)

lol, what do you think the weather would be like the first weekend of October? Any ideas for a hotel for a small gethering? I'd love a historical bed/breakfast if it was just a small group of us but if it happens and it is more than 10 people that might not be practical ... ::pondering::

Did Salem ever put forth a failed Convergence bid by the way? It would be nice if someone had already done the legwork on this.

No, no, no to October. Seriously, it's the obvious, but ~worst~ choice for when to travel there unless you want a scene that's like Mardi Gras, but colder ;) You might be o.k. at the very beginning of the month, but in general, it's the most crowded time of year, parking is difficult for those who might drive in, and hotels are more likely to be overpriced/full. A lot of us locals tended to plan our vacations *out* of Salem around Halloween. It worked fine since "Halloween is Everyday" there anyway :)

I was the person who would've done the Salem bid, and believe it would have worked with the crazy amounts of interest it got when I simply floated the idea (which would have happened in place of the C* that shall not be named). I lived there for nearly 13 years, so I know the area inside and out quite well. If this happens, I could certainly figure out things like places to stay, where to go, what to do, etc... Pas probleme!

I just recommend another time of year if at all possible (plus, I couldn't swing the first week of October this year since I have a show to do a couple of days before that & must save up for a Seattle trip close to Halloween).

We should totally get together a group of friends and do this though :)

September? Would that hit the sweet spot between too warm and too cold/rainy and be out of the October shirstorm of tourists?

I wouldn't be able to do it this year, but September next year might be something to plan for.

oh yes this year is too late, but NEXT year would be perfect.

Funny enough, I don't particularly think I'm "old school" and I still know what G.A.F. means.

(I think if I were a school it would be middle school, got in early enough to find a lovely aesthetic but too late to really enjoy it)

Hardrock still has a GAF t-shirt, which he regularly wears to work.
