After putting stale cereal and bread on the back deck for the crows, stomping back out a few minutes later to tell off the seagulls who were trying to land. While more than a dozen crows sit in the apple tree, cawing loud encouragement.
(Well, I took it as encouragement. As soon as the seagulls, affronted, took off, the crows started landing on the railing and making their "Hello!" noise.)

I'm strongly considering going up to Seattle for the Abney Park gig at FaerieCon. I have a few questions:
1. Would it be hard to get some people to share the room at the con hotel? (People who won't be smoking *anything* or wearing a bunch of perfume or hairspray, as I have asthma.)
2. Would it be worth bringing a bike to Seattle in February? I have a choice of flying or taking the train for about the same price, but I can bring a bike on the train and a LOT more luggage. But with a bike, it would be hard to wrangle luggage, and thanks to some repairs Amtrak's doing, I'd have to go to a station 50 miles away instead of getting on the commuter rail three blocks from home and going down to the station to catch the Amtrak. Otherwise, I'd take the commuter rail to BART and BART to SFO.
