Why is it that the more effective the cough syrup, the worse it tastes?

::shudders::

Tomorrow, I hope, is the last day of working from home because of this plague. With luck, the Magic Cough Syrup (that isn't laudanum, drat it all) will help me sleep. I'm still really shaky and weak, which is why I'm staying home again. But Wednesday! Wednesday I will Go To The Office.

(I went to the doctor today, and was told that nope, I don't have bronchitis or walking pneumonia, but it was a good thing that I came in and made sure. Then I was given a prescription for the Magic Cough Syrup, was told to rest and not charge back into things, and then sent on my way.)

I think I'm the only one who likes the flavor and texture of cough syrup- not flavored Dimetapp or Robitussin, but what most people call the nasty stuff. I'm not into drinking Robo recreationally, but damn do I like the taste.

I am glad you are hanging at home while you are weak.

Ewww, is it the cough syrup with codeine in it? I tried that before and it was wretched. Whatever works though! I just hope you can kick this soon!

I hope it works for you and you recover quickly!

p.s. I'm sure you've heard it from others, but that's the best icon :-)

They have this habit of putting the useful, useful codeine into Terpin Hydrate, which does in fact taste rather like turpentine smells, but I guess it's good at loosening secretions.
