I'm tired of coughing. I'm tired of blowing my nose. And I'm really tired of having no energy and of becoming woozy and mildly exhausted if I stand up for more than 15 minutes at a time.

... oh look. I've hit the whiny stage of being sick.

Poor sweetie. Being sick is awful, and being sick all friggin' winter (which I think both of us have dealt with this year) is even more awful. Hugs and tea and feel better. Whine as much as you need to. I certainly have followed that policy this year.

Poo. This is me, wagging a finger at your germs. This time next week, I hope.

I hit the whiny stage from the get go. My uber boss arrives Monday and I have an interview on Tuesday, so it's just lovely timing for getting sick.

Chocolate ice cream does feel really good if you have a sore, burning throat. So do frozen girl scout cookies (thin mints).

Were I there, I would make you real, homemade chicken soup. And I am a genuine certified Jewish Mother, so it'd have real curative properties.

Sadly, I am not, so I offer my sympathy, and my experience that tea with lemon, sugar, and brandy made a lot of the symptoms more tolerable.

On the bright side, I've found that having the energy to whine means you're on the mend!
