I just received the copy-edits for the GCS manuscript.

::flails a bit::

The letter from the copy editor was very nice, and essentially said "Don't freak out! It looks like a lot, but it's mostly just tiny changes." (I, being a professional editor-type at my day job, do understand that Word's "track changes" option flags Every. Single. Change. Which can look really overwhelming, but isn't meant to.)

COPY EDIT REVIEW TIME OHMYGOD. I KNOW I HAVE NO REASON TO FREAK OUT BUT THAT IS STILL MY INSTINCTUAL REACTION.

Right. More tea, and then I'll do more than glance at them.

I am sure they are TINY changes. I know, when someone helps me with things, I always feel like there are way more changes than there are. I see 4 and it looks like 40. Mine are usually just friends helping me, though :) And, as you can probably guess, it is with my punctuation :P

Oh, how fortunate you are to be getting copy edits.
As you well know.

Congratulations! I'm sure there aren't many, and there will only be a couple that you thoroughly, on principle, disagree with violently.

Much excitement! Good luck, and I hope the experience doesn't prove to be too traumatic once you've taken a proper look at it!

*hugs*
