Copy this sentence into your livejournal if you're in a non-same-sex marriage, and you don't want it "protected" by the bigots who think that gay marriage hurts it somehow.

How, exactly, would gay marriage hurt the relationship that [livejournal.com profile] stroppy_baggage and I have? Or anyone else's relationship? Oh that's right, it wouldn't.

i've been seeing this everywhere too... but I wonder... what good is posting a likely self-evident sentence in a journal that is self-selected to contain like minded people going to achieve?

Wouldn't it be better to contribute to the campaigns for legalization of same-sex mearriage in states that have such issues on the ballot, or to campaigns running against anti-same-sex measures?

And some of us have done that, in addition to repeating things in our journals. In fact, I gave serious thought to whether or not I wanted to make this post, because I didn't want to contribute to more "meaningless" political static. I decided it wasn't meaningless, partially because I want to show my support of my friends.

He.......he............he said we were gonna get MARRIED!

Oh sweetie. Here's the tissues.

I didn't think I would have to have this talk with you for a while ... sometimes, boys say things they don't mean in order to get you to ... do things that you may not feel ready for. Don't give into peer pressure!

Didn't you read those Judy Blume books I left in your room?!

You probably should have given Krass more than just a thumb up his ass if you wanted to keep him. No, the lollipop doesn't count.

Ah, cross-LJ humor. It's the best.

gays have just as much right to be as miserable, or as content as the rest of us.

I am boggled that you're listening to So What by Ministry. It's so... so... STOMPY!

From: [identity profile] cupcake-goth.livejournal.com

Hey, I like some stompy music. It's especially good when I'm in a vaguely cranky mood.

(You should come to Club V this Saturday! Since I wasn't able to be at the pumpkin party and see you!)

Hear hear! It's on my 'listen to when I'm pissy' iPod playlist. XD Long live the Goth Box!

I wonder if I can talk S into going out Saturday? He's been on the go so much lately that I am just waiting for his inevitable collapse. Mine too. :(

precisely. why are so many people afraid of the acknowledgment of more love in the world???
of all the things in the world to get upset about, same sex marriage should be on no one's list.

But, but if "teh Gayz" are allowed to get married, next they're gonna want equal rights. It's gonna be just like opening up things to "teh Womenz" all over again! Equal pay, rights, etc...Where will it end??!

From: [identity profile] metum-capere.livejournal.com

just a thought: if gays could marry, the money spent on lavish weddings might actually help the economy. gay people tend to be educated and have decent disposable incomes since they don't have to spend a zillion dollars every year on kids.
