Yes, I had my photo taken with Mary Poppins. No, I did not mug her afterwards for her parasol. This photo was taken on our first day at Disney, after I had managed to get not-quite 3 hours of sleep on the plane. Please note the very well-behaved [livejournal.com profile] clovisdvlbunny, who Mary Poppins was charmed by.

Me posing with the funeral carriage outside of the Haunted Mansion. Please note that I am wearing fingerless gloves and a scarf in this picture. In Florida. I took the Seattle weather with me, apparently, because it was FREEZING that day. It was cold enough that I forsook all of my fashion ideals and ... bought a hoodie. A hoodie that is more like a long-sleeved baby tee with a hood attached, because it has no zipper or closures (it pulls on over one's head), and that has Jack Skellington on it, but still. A hoodie. If you look closely at the picture, you can tell that I'm wearing it under my fitted wool jacket. There was much despairing muttering on my part of "I can't believe I bought a hoodie. But at least now I'm warm".

[livejournal.com profile] noisedesign and [livejournal.com profile] pix_kristin are sneaky sneaky creatures, and surprised us with the gift of taking us to a VERY nice dinner at Victoria & Albert's. (V&A is a lot like the Herbfarm*. But at Disney World, in one of the swankier hotels at the resort.) They had told us to be sure to pack a fancy outfit to wear someplace special. Of course, in my wardrobe, "fancy outfit to wear someplace special" means something with a Victorian circus air about it, complete with tiny top hat.

*Yes, I know. I still need to write up the menu from the Herbfarm. I also will write up the menu from Victoria & Albert's. I'll try to get both of those done tomorrow night.

I suspect that the various stories from our trip to Disney World will end up being posted in a somewhat scattered fashion, 'cos I've got Other Things I should be paying attention to. Tomorrow, I will try to write up the story of our magical trip to Norway in Epcot, and the ... something that is the Maelstrom ride located there. (Even now, [livejournal.com profile] noisedesign and [livejournal.com profile] pix_kristin are intoning "The magic of Nore-vey, yaahh", and giggling. Trust me, they are.)

Lemme guess - tourists wanted pics taken with you because they thought you worked there. Yes? No?

I've had that happen, too...LOL Not so much these days, though. :-P

We were talking about that the day before they left! They were sure it would happen. Hee.

I remember that happening to us in Vegas! (I believe that may have been the first time we were properly introduced, in fact!)

So glad that you had a good time on this trip ^_^

Looks like a lot of fun. I hope to go to either Disney park once Sir Squeaky Toy gets a bit older.

ND's tie should have been cupcake pink. Then that picture would have been PERFECT. You'd have all matched!

Actually, this exact thing was commented on as we headed to the V&A.

I took the opportunity to berate ND for his sloppy lack of psychicness.

[livejournal.com profile] nekopaws, who lives in the area, was there at the same time you were. I figured you'd be shrugging off the weather she reported, but a hoodie? You must have been cold.

Nice to see that you didn't scare this Mary Poppins to death. :)

Welcome home, I'm glad that you had so much fun.

Oh, now I am very cross at myself for not getting you the prezzie we bought you at Tokyo Disneyland, because it would have been perfect for that trip! I'll spill the beans. It's a pink satin mini top hat with Mickey mouse ears. It clips on. They all the rage at TDL.

Yes, we went in January one year and froze. I bought a purple Tinkerbell sweatshirt to wear, and Captain Hook wouldn't have his picture taken with me until I covered up.

I am patiently awaiting the rest of your tales and am quite jealous.

Pink ... satin ... mini top hat with mouse ears?! I cannot begin to express how gleeful that idea makes me. Just ... bweeeeee!

*drools at Mary Poppins' fluff*

I totally would have mugged her-- for the hat alone. She never woulda saw it coming!

Your going-out outfit *rawks* btw! I like all your outfits, actually. :)

The black dress in the Mary Poppins photo? Blackrayne made it for me! Princess-seamed black stretch velvet ftw!

Thank you, oh photo coach. I'm starting to get more comfortable with having pictures taken. (Which reminds me, I should get someone to snap a photo of today's outfit ...)

YAY pictures!

(Even now, noisedesign and pix_kristin are intoning "The magic of Nore-vey, yaahh", and giggling. Trust me, they are.)

Who, me?

giggles helplessly

The magic of Nore-vey, yahh!"

oooh, I love the Mary Poppins photo!! And indeed, Clovis is almost eerily well-behaved...makes you wonder what was being plotted...
