Dear Insomnia Fairy,
We are not friends. I know you think we are, but you are wrong. Please stop visiting.
------
Dear Brain,
When I finally do manage to fall asleep, supplying dreams that are entirely about me not being able to fall asleep (in a variety of settings) and getting more and more upset? NOT HELPING. Please go back to the traditional stress dreams of either me stuck working back at Fred Meyer, or the one where I have to hunt the critters from the Aliens movies at my office. I like the Aliens one, actually. Petticoats and pulse rifles go together very nicely.
------
So, I'm tired. Very, very tired. Which means I chose an outfit to cheer myself up today.
Tonight, the Unhallowed Metropolis signing, and a good night's sleep. Oh please, a good night's sleep.

- Black pointy-toe shoes with bats that
stroppy_baggage had designed for me. - Black tights, with black cotton stockings decorated with pink ribbons worn over them.
- Black "Dolly Bustle" knee-length skirt with additional pink ruffles from Retroscope Fashions, worn over a black knee-length petticoat.
- Black velvet hip-length high-collared Victorian-esque jacket from Newport News. I replaced the buttons on this one with giant silver ones.
- Small black faux-fur stole/collar that ties with a large-ish pink & black striped satin bow, lined in the same satin. (I made it last weekend.)
- Freshly-trimmed batwing-point bangs, and the rest of my hair pulled up into a high ponytail and secured with extra-full lace-festooned hairties.
- Jewelry: The usual giant silver rings, pink glass pearl earrings, and my antique silver mini pocketwatch necklace, worn hanging over the bow of the collar.
- Makeup, the usual: YSL Touch Eclat under my eyes (all hail the gold clicky tube that makes me look like I'm well-rested!), translucent powder, black liquid liner on the upper & lower lids, black DiorShow mascara, and Vamp lipstick.
Tonight, the Unhallowed Metropolis signing, and a good night's sleep. Oh please, a good night's sleep.

I have heard of such dreams! They have found people in sleep labs who swear they wake up constantly, tossing and turning, but videotape and brain waves show otherwise. How tormenting! Especially if one already suffers from insomnia. Small comfort(?) that your dreams were weird enough to prove you were actually asleep.
I was relieved just to know such a thing is possible, as I'm influenced by my perception of how much sleep I've had, in addition to the truth of how much sleep I've had.
