Time for a new lesson at Gothic Charm School!

On Dealing With Relatives. And Security Guards.

(And this is where I make my usual request for everyone to spread the word about the new lesson. Thank you!)

Another fantastic and timely lesson! I'll keep these tips in mind during the holiday. :)

there's a mistype in your advice from loss-prevention people section, the portion about not wandering off into dark corners, but looking intentional.

Nice advice for dealing with security guards ~ I bet most of us have had to deal with that at some point. Maybe in another travel season, you can do the same for airport security guards (who of course have to be dealt with in an even *less* confrontational/ultra polite way), as the same conundrum applies for why in the world would the person who already knows they're being stared at be the one likely to cause trouble?

I still think you should add Gothic Charm School "Thank You" notes to your Cafe Press offerings... :)

Oooh, Thank You notes! What a brilliant idea! Let me talk to The Husband, who does all my graphic design ...

Happy to help :) I hope it comes to fruition ~ people could use them after the holidays, and then for graduations, birthdays, etc...!

Imagine the pleasant surprise of relatives when they receive a note and realize that the most polite family members are the goth-y ones ~ it will urge them to re-think some stereotypes ;)

Furthermore, I missed your birthday, which shows an absolute lack of manners on my part.

Mea culpa! :(

Charming and very useful. I almost wish I had a bunch of relatives who hadn't already seen me in black all the time.

I love your columns.

I wish more teens had a Lady of the Manners, even if they weren't Goth! I shall spread the word. Your columns are beautiful. Thank you!

Oh splendid! I've added you, too. (And I love the notion of virtual calling cards! Something for me to add to the list of projects ...)
