Don't look at [livejournal.com profile] gothroyalty today. The theme is Something Crawly. Guess what a lot of people are talking about?

::shudders::

Yes, there are pictures. This is where I am VERY THANKFUL that the default view of my FL is set to no pictures.

*shudders* Oh, goodness, I hate those things! Though, I do find it funny that my grandma isn't afraid of them, but is instead terrified of fuzzy caterpillars.

But... but... they're our buddies. They eat flying, disease-carrying bloodsuckers. I'll take them over rats any day.

Oh, I know they're good, helpful critters. It's just that the thought of them (or the sight of them) triggers all of my panic responses. No rational thought, just screaming and getting away as fast as possible.

It's odd what makes things scary. There's a particular uncommon largish, mottled gray insect with wide, serrated legs that's given me a few frights, so I looked it up. They're harmless cousins of the stink bug.

If They were our friends, They would look more like Golden Retrievers instead of the grotesque Lovecraftian horrors they truly are. I'm just sayin'.

Charisma is a tool of the devil. Rats (gyeugh!) are capable of cuteness.

Ditto. *shudder* I'm not fond of spiders. At all. Not even as decoration.

It's not the spiders that scare me it's the centipedes...those are nasty things. After seeing one the size of a Snickers bar crawl over my back pack when I lived in Hawaii, I never want to see another one again...

The place where I'm working for now has the toilets in the basement. A crypt-like basement, which would be very cool except for the many spiders. I don't know what creeps me out the most : live ones, or their white old skins (don't know the word, don't want to look in the dictionary right now) ?
I blame them for the recrudescence of arachnids in my dreams.
At least, spiders stay in their webs and don't move too much...
