- Still tired, still headachey. Boo.

- Saw Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest last night, and loved loved loved it. I would like to see it again RIGHT NOW please. Oh, and predictably, I want a replica of a certain shiny trinket in the movie. If any of you see one (and those of you that have seen the movie will know what shiny trinket I'm speaking of), please let me know.

- Speaking of PotC2, people who've seen it should go and read this critique/review/analysis of the movie. I have no idea who [livejournal.com profile] shadowcaptain is, but I loved this post of theirs. (I yanked the link from ... someone on my FL. [livejournal.com profile] rimrunner, maybe?)

- Work continues to eat away at my sanity. I work for a great boss, and with a good bunch of people. It's just that there's a LOT of work, and the team needs more than just me as an editor.

- The kitties are still, all three of them, cute as Very Cute Things.

- [livejournal.com profile] stroppy_baggage takes very good care of me, and is, as always, The Best Husband Ever.

Probably, I did post a link to it this morning. The more I think about his points, the more sense they make. It shows a willingness to take a certain amount of risk on the part of the filmmakers, who could've more easily just churned out a sequel similar to the first.

I haven't seen the certain shiny trinket I presume you're referring to available for purchase (yet), but they do have this quite lovely trinket:

Hmm, that is pretty. You're right, not the shiny trinket *I* want, but still, pretty.

"(and those of you that have seen the movie will know what shiny trinket I'm speaking of)"

I don't know if they make replicas of Johnny Depp. :P (j/k)

(spoiler)
oh, do you mean, one of these (http://www.livejournal.com/userpic/49058034/349265)? If so, I'll be on the lookout for you...

From: [identity profile] cupcake-goth.livejournal.com

Bah! It's a trinket if I say so. A trinket that plays music, but still a trinket. And one I waaaaaaaant.

From: [identity profile] cupcake-goth.livejournal.com

No no no, silly. Not THAT music-playing thingamabob. (Tho' I would dearly love to have a replica of that, but have no room for such a thing in the house. I still regret not buying the pipe organ I found at a yard sale, even if it was $1500 and we were living in an apartment at the time.)

I want want want the small, heart-shaped, music-playing thingamabob.

From: [identity profile] pvcdiva.livejournal.com

you see it first as not a musical trinkety thing, but as a necklace on the nutter obeh woman's table when JD is purloining her other treasures while she's off getting his jar of dirt..only for the mearest instant, mind, and you next see it as the musical trinket with Davey Jones, so they both have one,

...but in that instant I knew it was the trinket you meant and I had a little smile to myself in the auditorium on Saturday night. I want one too - and I smiled to myself at that mutual lust for aquisition of shiney nouveau styled trniket things to wear.

That's exactly what I was thinking. A nice, shiny Johnny Depp replica. I'd pay decent money for one of those.

I believe that I am actually the one with The Best Husband Ever, but I can allow that our indvidual views might well be biased. :)

Hoping for the tiredness to end soon.

I have no idea who that is either, but that post was great. Thanks!

Also, there were a lot of shiny trinkets in the movie.

This post is like a [livejournal.com profile] prncsmoonbeam/[livejournal.com profile] collapseylamb mad lib -- swap relevant details and I could have written it, too. :) Let's try it:

- Still sick, still menstrual, still with the pheasants tap-dancing on my brain. [Insert stream of invective here]

- Saw Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest last night, and loved loved loved it. I would like to see it again RIGHT NOW please. Oh, and predictably, I want Orlando Bloom RIGHT FUCKING NOW. No, wait. (This is an unfortunate in-joke, because [livejournal.com profile] x_rumour_x's jawline and brow structure is very similar to Baby Boy Bloom's, so he gets the "God, you look like him!" thing a lot.)

- Work rocks, I love my job, rama-rama.

- I want to stuff my kittens in my mouth. Nummy kittens. Mama's little demons.

- [livejournal.com profile] x_rumour_x rocks my socks. I want to stuff him in my mouth, too.

... Wasn't that scary? :) [livejournal.com profile] euterpe35 pointed me to that wonderful illustrated review. I want to stuff that in my mouth, too. But presently I have chocolate cake. Whose fault is this, anyway?

I love the analysis they gave. Very cool indeed. I've seen the movie, but I just can't be sure of what trinket you're talking about.

Do I remember aright, and did it match the escutcheon of the chest's lock? I thought that it did, but I could easily have been deceived, what with the men and the scruff and the swords thereabouts at the time.

I hopehopehope we can manage to get together tomorrow. I'll come camp on your doorstep if I have to. :D

Velvet, and the ... Dress...

Out of curiosity, I was wondering how the dress (Pattern number 3294) is going?

Basically, wondering if it is a success, as I previously mentioned, I am going to have one done up for my wife (she's seen the pattern, and loves it)
