Yes, finally. I know, I know, it's been a while. Still, please spread the word and let people know that there's a Brand! New! Gothic Charm School lesson up!

An Assortment of Questions About Religion, Gossip, and Vampires.

Your vampire-question response was *marvellous*! You had me snickering out loud.

The vampire question really is my favorite out of all the questions I've been sent. I couldn't stop giggling.

Sometimes I want to write a spin-off collumn where I answer the same questions in my own "charming" manner. I would call it "The Oglemore Academy For The Advancement Of Blunt Ferocity."

OOO! Now those topics sounds interesting. I'm off to read it. :->

For the first question, I think of the Sermon on the Mount, Mathew 6:

"And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. 6But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 7And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him."

This is what I often use for my excuse for not going to church. I quite remember once repeating it word for word to some street preacher who was trying to get me to go to their church and being told "that is heresy" because they seemed unaware I was quoting Christ. Still it can be argued that it speaks not against going to church but just doing so for show, but that should still hold for being forced to go to church and to show that one does not need to if one does not feel inclined.

I appreciated your response to the first question and am reminded that, while some people I know go out of their way to point out that they are far too clever for church and that Christianity is stupid, some *other* people I know are as tolerant toward others as they wish those others would be toward them. And that others writing a response to that first question would have used it as a soapbox to denounce Christianity, organized religion, and/or parents.

Thank you for reminding me :)

You are inspiring, my dear, thank you for reminding me (us) to keep cattiness to ourselves (as much as we possibly can), and appear to be the bigger person...I, personally, needed that today
