The Stroppy One and I had a lovely day yesterday for our 26th (!!!) anniversary. We went on a drive through some pretty forested areas, wandered through a local vendors' market and bought some goodies, then went and had food and drinks at our local favorite brewpub. We made sure to get a window seat, because the brewpub is in the middle of the streets that the local Halloween parade happens!
I'm not sure parade is the best word for it: it's essentially all the retailers and restaurants give out candy to trick-or-treaters. But it was so much fun, because apparently it is THE trick-or-treating event in our neighborhood, and we saw probably 500+ families in costume, all having a fabulous time. Their glee was contagious.
After food and watching trick-or-treaters, we headed over to a friend's house for low-key socializing, which was a perfect end to the evening.
