Apparently Torrid was selling a black stretch velvet dress (also in dark teal or plum) that was princess-seam (!!!), full-skirted, and slightly below knee-length. I say "was", because I didn't know it existed until it was even sold out on clearance, aaaaauuuugh! But that means it's on the resale sites now. I took a chance and bought one, and ... yeah. It's pretty much the platonic ideal of my basic building block dress. That dress over a sleeveless, high-collar blouse and a long floofy skirt = instant romantigoth / unnerving governess outfit that is COMFY.

So I'm now stalking eBay/Poshmark/Depop for it in Torrid sizes 1 or 2 for a few more. (I can take a size 2 in to fit me.) Do I really need more stretch velvet dresses? Probably not. But my rule is if I have the money and a perfect garment is readily available, I should snap up a few because I will inevitably regret it if I don't.

So, uh, consider this a plus size femme goth PSA, I guess?
