The past two weeks: Inconsistent sleep, HOLY SHIT WHAT THE NEWS?!, more inconsistent sleep, and thanks to a co-worker’s poor planning and communication, I became a very organized and proactive tech writer incarnation of the “fuck around and find out” meme. Don’t piss me off, I have superpowers in being cheerfully menacing and creating processes and schedules that managers REALLY like.
I will will be honest here: I was really, really good at my job this week. Am I staring down the barrel of an oncoming adrenaline fatigue crash this weekend? Yes, but it was worth it.

In addition to having Monday off for MLK Day, I’m taking Wednesday off. For one thing, I’m going to be distracted by the news — please G-D let the inauguration be smooth and uneventful — but also because it’ll be the tenth anniversary of Mom’s death. I don’t think I should try to focus on work that day.
