(no subject)

 Saturday night is the Vespertine Ball - Virtual Edition. I've gotten a behind-the-scenes view of how it's being run, and I'm impressed. I think it'll be a good incarnation of a great event.

I'm the door person/greeter. I'm going to be the first person a guest sees when they click their event ticket; there's other stuff involved, but I'm the greeter. Which I'm looking forward to, but I also know it'll be a bit fiddly, in terms of keeping people flowing through the virtual doorway.

I ... don't really know what I'm going to wear. I mean, I have some ideas, but I need to do a test run of them tonight. (From the waist down, it's gonna be leggings and a blanket, because I'm sitting at a desk for the whole thing.) So anyhoodle, what I'm thinking of:

• White lace high-collar long-sleeved blouse.
• Black vintage fox fur stole.
• As many AB crystal and jet necklaces as I can drape around my neck. Hell, I may even pull out Grandma Vida's 3-strand necklace of pale blue crystal beads.
• Hair pulled back into fancy bun/ponytail (enhanced with hair pieces), and ... fresh flower and greenery crown? Black velvet fascinator with a vintage rhinestone hair ornament that has pieces on wire that give it a comet effect? 

Oh, and I have to do a couple test runs of stage-level makeup to make sure I'm not washed out on the webcam. Which means finding my damn reference books, because I'm out of practice. But I'm not doing test makeup tonight, because today has been a Bad Brain Day, which means staring into a mirror for 40+ minutes would be akin to sandpaper on my nerves. 

BUT ANYWAY, I am looking forward to the event. It will nice to be see very fancy people, even if it's in online meetings.
