Let's see:

- Tuesday night, didn't stop reading to go to bed until after 3am. Wednesday, lurched out of bed around noon, and still felt incredibly tired and groggy all day. (I almost fell asleep in the tepid pool at the spa, and that never happens.)

- Wednesday night, go to bed around 1am, probably actually fell asleep around 2am, and woke up around 11am. But! I had stress dreams all night, mostly centered around the previous job. Dear Brain, stop that.

January is looming near. On the one hand, yes, new year, may it be better than 2018. On the other hand, January is traditionally a month of slothfulness and mild-to-middling depression for me, and that was before Mom's death right before her birthday. HOWEVER, I am writing to-do lists for myself and setting goal for the coming GCS media empire, and am hoping planning on fighting the Brain Raccoons with productivity. Which means tonight I window-shop for the next Stereotype Technology post. Window shop, Self. No purchasing.

(There's a jacket I keep eyeing on Amazon (ChicStar doesn't have it in my size anymore, woe), but I really do know that I don't need any more jackets (or skirts, or ruffly blouses ...), and that if I'm going to spend money, it needs to be for ornamentation supplies for my VMB outfit.)

Also, I've arrived late at the Florence + The Machine party? The few songs I'd heard by her didn't really grab me until there was some sort of text post about the "personalities" of the different albums, and Ceremonies was (according to my vague memory) ghost stories, gothic, running through the forest ... my aesthetic, apparently.

So that was accurate.

Her sound is closer to Kate Bush and Tori Amos than, say, Chelsea Wolfe or Zola Jesus, but her music occupies the same genre in my brain.
