cupcake_goth: A lady always carries a handkerchief. (dainty cliche)

Throwback Thursday!

Halloween 1992 or '93 showing my fangs at the retail hell job.

(The embrace your cliches tag never closes around here.)
In between bouts of gibbering about deadlines and travel, I have been distracting myself with thinking about what I'm packing for next week's trip. (OH G_D NEXT WEEK.)

I know I want to pack perfume. I feel weird if I'm out in public and I'm not wearing a tiny bit of perfume. (It's the same with lipstick.) The only time I go out without perfume is if I'm going to Thea's, because any perfume sends her straight to migraine land. Anyway, I want to take perfume with me, but the three I rotate through (Blood Popsicle, Silky Bat, or Lord of Misrule) have a lot of throw, no matter how sparingly I apply them.

But then wait! My beloved Amunet, by House of Orpheus! Which doesn't have a lot of throw!

A classical Oud, made with spicy notes of cassia, black storax extrait, agar wood oil, and made with an antique Egyptian paste of civet and musk. Amunet is exalted with the lunar oils of silver and the alchemical oil of distilled scorpions.

It has a sweetness to it, but it's a sweetness cut with spice and poison. It's the perfume equivalent of antique black silk velvet, spangled with tarnished silver sequins, and trimmed with blood red silk ribbons. Yes, I think I'll take that with me.
