I know I should write up a really detailed account of C9, because it was oodles of fun, I saw people who are very dear to me that live far away, I met new cool people, and had a generally surreal time. I just don't know if I'll have time to write it all up. Things Are Afoot, Things that will take up most of my time and attention. eeep!

I didn't go to all the C9 events. I didn't go to the Sat. night event because of other plans, I didn't go to Sunday's Mobsters' Ball due to feeling under the weather (for the record, the Pad Thai at the Star Trek Experience restaurant is lethally spicy. As in, make my little princess-self ill spicy). The fashion show on Friday was fun, and I saw some lovely outfits (and hairpieces! big synthetic hair falls! curls! dreads! need more fake hair now now now!)

In a perfect world, I'd get to hang out with [livejournal.com profile] radcliffe and [livejournal.com profile] trystbat
more often, probably playing with clothes and makeup. Manor house! We need a manor house! (With a whole bunch of other people in it; the usual suspects, you know who you are. grin)

I came back to the usual level of chaos at work, no surprise. But! Due to Sooper-Sekrit Plans, I don't really mind it. Keep your fingers crossed, candles lit, and anything else you do for luck for me, please. I know I'm being cryptic as a big cryptic thing, but if Things Work Out, this will be a huge change for me. Huge, wonderful, and just a little terrifying. eep!
I think I want to fiddle with my look a bit. Because while I love love love my hoop skirts and crinolines, I think I might (might!) want to try a skirt style that fits slightly (and I mean slightly) closer to the actual outline of my hips, which then gets really REALLY full (but without hoops or crinolines) starting about knee-length. Vaguely Edwardian in shape.

I may try a test run of this at home with the flamenco skirt that is 8 gores and trimmed in huge ruffles. I normally wear it over a hoop, but I'll see if wearing it by itself sets off the screaming of the Body Image Monsters. I hope it doesn't, especially since I'd still be wearing jackets with peplums or skirts that drape (well, hide) the hips. I would just be shooting for a somewhat sleeker silhouette.

Of course, if I (and The Husband) like this look, then there are a whole bunch of new skirts in my future.

(I think I can partially blame this on [livejournal.com profile] radcliffe, who looked LOVELY in gored skirts with bustles. Still floofy, still flouncy, but a sleeker, slimmer line through the hips. All your fault, missy.)
