Yesterday #1 Minion and I went to a "mini spa day" at the local Nordstrom. Brow waxing, back massage, hand massage and paraffin moisturizing treatment, AND a makeover, all for $10 - with $5 of that going toward any makeup you end up buying after being pampered.

I want to live like that every day, oh yes I do.

Both of us got makeovers from a gothy girl at the MAC counter - she's worked there for years, and always has the most amazing hair. Previously it was various shades of rose red, pink, and burgundy, but now it's burgundy, purple, and orange; I would never have believed those hair colors would work together, but it looked amazing.

She spent 45 minutes putting on my makeup. I now have somewhat of an understanding how to apply dark eyeshadow in a contouring sort of way, but I'm going to need to practice lots. I also now realize that MAC concealer is a product of the gods, and that blush does not have to make my (already pink) cheeks brighter, but will (with the proper color and properly applied) make my cheekbones more noticeable.

I want to buy blush. I didn't buy it then, because I was too giddy with new concealer, lipstick, lip pencil, and eyeshadow. But soon I will buy blush.

For #1 Minion's makeover, it was dark smudgy eye makeup. At the end of the whole process, her eyes looked enormous, greener than ever before, and like she'd stepped from an Edward Gorey cartoon. We both looked FABULOUS.

Makeup. Want ... more ... makeup. Until I have the disposable income to buy it, however, I'll just have to be content with playing with the oodles of NEW makeup I now have.

Blush. I can't believe I want to own blush.
